Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 520199) (to commence as soon as possible for three years, with the possibility of renewal, subject to satisfactory performance)

Our laboratory focuses on the pathogenesis and development of therapeutic agents for blood cancers in particular acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).  We have established various laboratory platforms and animal models including transgenic zebrafish and mouse models, xenotransplantation using immunodeficient mice and various molecular and cellular experimental models. The laboratory works in close collaboration with the Faculty Core Facility and Centre for PanorOmic Sciences (CPOS) of the LKS Faculty of Medicine as well as the Centre for Comparative Medicine Research (CCMR) of the University of Hong Kong.

Our goal is to develop novel therapeutic agents and personalized strategies for AML and other blood cancer types with a focus on those treatments that are clinically relevant and those with the prospects of commercialization. Success in this initiative will catapult Hong Kong as a regional Hub for research and treatment of blood cancers.

The candidate will become a member of the laboratory made up of 20+ people with different research expertise and seniorities ranging from research assistants, graduate students to postdoctoral fellows and research assistant professors, led by Professor Anskar Y.H. Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Sciences, Cancer and Molecular Biology, and Immuno-oncology or related disciplines, with strong research background.  Experience in animal models, particularly genome editing in zebrafish and mouse models is an advantage.  They should also be able to work as team member of a highly collaborative research group. 

Overseas graduates are encouraged to apply, the qualification awarding institution should be among the top 100 institutions for STEM-related subjects in QS/Shanghai Jiao Tong Uni/Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
