The Science Unit (http://www.LN.edu.hk/scienceunit) would like to invite applications for the above-mentioned post.

The appointee will join the Applied Ecology and Conservation research team led by Dr. Roger Lee (https://www.ln.edu.hk/scienceunit/rogerlee.php) and will be working on nature-based greening solutions for insect pollinator conservation in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities

  • Field surveys in urban green spaces
  • Identify and curate insect pollinator specimens
  • Conduct laboratory processing of specimens for molecular analysis
  • Data processing/analyses
  • Prepare educational material
  • Other research-related duties assigned

Requirements

  • A recognized bachelor’s degree (or above) holder in ecology/environmental sciences/life sciences/biology, or related disciplines
  • Relevant field survey experience
  • Passionate about ecological research and biodiversity conservation
  • Good organization and communication skills (writing and speaking)
  • Good level of physical fitness

Applicants with prior experience in insect sampling and curation are highly encouraged to apply for this position.

Salary and Benefits

Commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, and mandatory provident fund.

Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract for 12 months with the possibility of a further extension on related research projects.
