Applications are invited for appointment as Research Manager (at the rank of Assistant Research Officer / Research Officer) in the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER) within the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 520322), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Education or above, preferably a PhD degree. They should have 3 to 5 years of research experience in conducting qualitative and/or quantitative educational research projects. Strong statistical and computer skills (including SPSS, R, Mplus, Word, Excel etc.) and a high level of writing proficiency in English and Chinese and demonstrated ability in writing up research findings for both academic and general audiences are essential. They should also have a demonstrated track record of publishing academic research papers and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team to conduct educational research. Those with higher qualification and/or more relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Research Officer.

The appointee will assist the Project Investigator to conduct a joint-institution research project on the teaching and learning of Chinese language for multicultural and multilingual students, work out a research plan and schedule for the project, liaise with project team and other related parties to contribute to the timely delivery of research outcomes, manage all the data collected, analyze the collected data and findings to generate research papers for publication, and perform other duties as assigned.
