Job Summary:
Eastern Washington University's Department of Psychology invites applications for a full-time, academic year, Lecturer position in clinical and/or neuropsychology to begin September 16, 2023. The position is renewable annually dependent on performance, need, and funding.

Responsibilities

• Teaching a variety of undergraduate and some graduate courses to fulfill the needs of the Program and School. Final courses will be determined in consultation with the Chair for each of the positions, and may include Introductory Psychology, Stress and Coping, Research Method, Theories of Personality, Human Neuropsychology, Personality and Behavioral Assessment, Cognitive Assessment, and Practicum.
• Engaging in effective teaching and assessment of student learning
• Actively involving undergraduate and graduate students in research projects, and presentations
• Supervise students engaged in applied experiences
• Participating in Department meetings and collaborating with colleagues to fulfill the missions of the Department

The typical teaching load is 45 credits per year, spread over three quarters. The candidate is expected to program specific committees and should be an active member in the department.

Required Qualifications:

• MA or MS in Psychology or Counseling or equivalent degree will meet the minimum requirement.
• Ability to teach courses within psychology and specific to specialty areas related to clinical/neuropsychology, as demonstrated by coursework, prior teaching experience, research, and/or publications/presentations.
• Mastery of basic computer skills including word processing, database, email, and other forms of instruction technology
• Demonstrated ability to teach in online and hybrid formats using synchronous and asynchronous components.
• A high degree of interest in human and cultural diversity, social justice and experiential and community- based education.
• Demonstrated ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible approach that is supportive to the diverse needs, including universal access, of our students, faculty, staff, and the public.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D. or ABD in Psychology or Counseling is preferred
• Experience teaching university or college graduate level Psychology courses
• Commitment to quality teaching and student development
• Demonstrated ability to advise students and to supervise internship and applied experiences
• Eligible for credential as a certified school counselor, licensed mental health counselor, certified school psychology, and/or licensed psychologist

Conditions of Employment:
The required start date for this position is 09/16/2023. To be considered eligible for appointment into the position, applicants must be available and able to start in the position no later than 09/16/2023.

Position is based on the Cheney campus, and includes in-classroom teaching as part of its position responsibilities. As a result, this position will not be filled with a candidate who seeks an on-line only, remote teaching position.

This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment.

Salary Information: The expected salary upon hire is $58,477.
