Post-doctoral Research Fellow, School of Physics

Applications are invited for a temporary post of a CD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Physics.

The project aims to develop a new methodology to detect single molecules. We will apply this understanding to advance the precision of state-of-the-art single-molecule counting diagnostic tests. Improvements in testing in this way enable much earlier disease detection, better prognoses, and more enhanced treatment programs. Expertise and interest in optics, fluorescence microscopy, and single molecule detection are central to this role. Where the candidate will work alongside material scientists and clinical researchers.

This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.

Fixed Salary: 42,033 per annum

Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
