An exciting opportunity has arisen for a distinguished academic to join the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine in the Physiotherapy program. The appointment as Professor will be offered as a continuing professorial appointment, and the term of appointment for the Head of Program role will be 5 years.

The Physiotherapy program at Bond has led the way and is the first fully accredited Doctor of Physiotherapy in Australia. The program's first intake was in 2007, and this year we will celebrate 15 years of graduates. The program is unique in that it can be completed in two calendar years and it has seven clinical placements, as well as a strong focus on student experience, research, and evidence-based practice.

Reporting to the Executive Dean, the Head of Program will join the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine executive leadership team and contribute to the faculty's academic outcomes, strategic goals, and student experience. At Bond, we have performed as Australia's #1 university for student experience for the last 16 years (Good Universities Guide 2006-2022).

The Head of Program will lead and manage the program's academic teaching and research, academic administration, and community engagement activities in line with faculty’s strategic objectives.

About the person

The successful candidate will have a PhD qualification, and be recognised internationally and professionally in physiotherapy practice, teaching, and research.

Applicants will have an outstanding track record in physiotherapy, disciplinary leadership, research, and scholarship in teaching and learning practice. Physiotherapy registration (or eligibility) in Australia is a requirement for this position.

Excellent leadership skills including the ability to mentor and support staff at all levels along with significant experience in building effective working relationships will be required for success in this role.

Salary details

The salary for this position will be $197,866.85 plus 17.5% superannuation per annum, and may be negotiable commensurate with skills and experience.
