Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) in urban remote sensing in the Department of Geography (2 posts) (Ref.: 519994), to commence as soon as possible, on a one- to two-year temporary basis, with a possibility for further extension depending on performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in geography, atmospheric science, environmental sciences, or a related discipline. They should demonstrate (i) practical experience and knowledge in urban remote sensing; (ii) proficiency in computer programming and machine learning methods for spatial-temporal analysis; and (iii) a strong track record of high-quality research, evidenced by publications. Candidates with experience in building energy use studies will be given preference.

The appointees will undertake research in the following topics, such as urban thermal environment monitoring, building energy use and emissions modelling, and urban health. They will be joining a strong research group with multiple members and will supervise junior research staff and students, and assist in administrative, operational and other duties as assigned.
