About the Role
The Art History and Art Curatorship program teaches the history, theory, and curatorship of Australian, Asian, European, and American art from the Early Modern to contemporary periods. We offer a Major within the Bachelor of Arts, and the Master of Art Curatorship, and collaborate closely with the Masters Degree in Arts and Cultural Management.
As a lecturer, you will contribute to teaching diverse cohorts at undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate levels, and undertake research or engage in professional activities appropriate to art history.
Responsibilities include:
- Subject (module) coordinating and delivery.
- Curriculum designing and innovating, including cross-disciplinary approaches.
- Design and delivery of overseas subjects and other student mobility programs
- Publications, including (but not limited to) peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, books, creative outputs, and commissioned reports.
About You
You will be an experienced lecturer with a background in contemporary art and its global dimensions, and a demonstrated ability to engage with current theoretical and art historical issues. You will be confident in your ability to supervise honours and postgraduate research and also have the capacity to attract research grants.
You will also have:
- A completed PhD in Art History or a relevant discipline.
- A strong record in research with a developing profile of publications relevant to the discipline.
- Demonstrated ability for excellence in teaching including the capacity for syllabus/ curriculum design.
