About the opportunity

The University of Sydney's School of Architecture, Design and Planning is seeking an enthusiastic, talented, and passionate Research Officer to provide operational and administrative support to the research projects of the Head of School and Dean, Professor Robyn Dowling. The incumbent will primarily support the activities of the Australian Research Council Discovery Project 'Innovating Urban Governance' co-led with Professor Pauline McGuirk of the University of Wollongong.

This is a great opportunity for an outstanding Research Officer to develop a strong career in built environment and urban planning research.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• provide project management support to the Australian Research Council Discovery Project on 'Innovating Urban Governance' and manage the multiple elements and Chief Investigator responsibilities of the project
• coordinate data collection and analysis
• maintain and prepare project progress reports, literature reviews, research reports, and media output
• coordinate grant applications and submissions
• support routine aspects of other research activities undertaken by the Chief Investigators.

About you

• honours degree with relevant experience in a related field, or first degree in a related area and substantial experience as research assistant/officer
• proven experience working in a research-intensive environment
• outstanding inter-personal skills and capacity to resolve challenging situations in the most professional manner
• proven organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects and streams of activities
• experience in carrying out literature searches, and preparing literature reviews
• advanced skills in MS Office and related software
• experience with ethics submissions and grant applications.
