We are seeking an experienced clinical academic with extensive undergraduate teaching experience and program coordination within the Oral Health discipline. The appointees teaching duties will include the integration of pre-clinical and clinical training in the Bachelor of Oral Health program (Therapy and Hygiene) and the supervision of relevant clinics.
The appointee will play an important role in curriculum development and accreditation reporting, in addition to providing academic leadership within the discipline, contributing significantly to teaching, administration and academic workloads. Additionally, the appointee will have the opportunity to progress an active research profile with a strategic research and innovation focus aligned to the overall strategies of the University.
The appointee will have demonstrated experience in providing high quality person-centred care in private or public health dental practice settings, have a current and significant track record in research publication in a field relevant to Oral Health, prior teaching experience, and can demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain key professional relationships and provide effective leadership in building people capability.
This position is required for face-to-face and online teaching and as such remote work options are not available. Generous assistance, including financial, is available to help you relocate to take up this leadership opportunity.
To be successful you will have:
- A PhD degree relevant to the discipline.
- Full registration as an oral health therapist, hygienist or dentist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra), or, for overseas applicants, demonstrated evidence of having consulted with Ahpra regarding eligibility for registration.
- Extensive understanding of the clinical practice of dental practitioners, supported by a significant record of teaching and clinical supervision in oral health therapy.
- Evidence of success in delivering and leading others in the delivery of high quality student centred learning and teaching.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in the discipline in research and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
