Applications are invited for the post of Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the Computer Science Department at Royal Holloway, University of London.
Successful applicants will be working under the direction of Professor Kostas Stathis and Dr Szonya Durant on the US-funded Informed real-time human-agent teaming through patterns of eye gaze allocation (iRealHAT-PEGA) project (AFOSR/ 22IOE052).
Project Description: The iRealHAT-PEGA project aims to employ intelligent agents to represent the human attentional workspace when a user is interacting with an application and use this to understand how human attention evolves under multitasking conditions. The work will build upon an existing testbed where agents monitor on-line eye-tracking information using a teleo-reactive model of agent execution, linking hierarchies of high-level agent goals to human interpretable behaviors, as opposed to low-level condition-action reactions that other agent models employ.
This is a joint research effort involving the Departments of Computer Science (Prof Stathis) and Psychology (Dr Durant) at Royal Holloway University of London.
The ideal candidate: We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with a PhD (or who is about to submit their thesis) in one of the following areas: teleo-reactive agent models, agent communication, and agent environments. Experience in multiple areas will be valued, including machine learning and data analysis. Candidates ideally should also have strong programming skills, especially in Python.
In return we offer a highly competitive rewards and benefits package including:
- Generous annual leave entitlement
- Training and Development opportunities
- Pension Scheme with generous employer contribution
- Various schemes including Cycle to Work, Season Ticket Loans and help with the cost of Eyesight testing.
- Free parking
The post is based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
