As part of the implementation of the University's 2032 Strategy, the Business School has a vital role to play collaborating and working across the institution to achieve the initiatives. The Business School must also ensure we make a disproportionate positive difference in alignment of our strategy to that of the University, our scale of impact and the execution of strategic initiatives to ensure our continued success and sustainability.

The Project Officer, Academic Strategic Initiatives is responsible for, aligning the Business School strategy and the University's strategy. It is a boundary spanning role and will need to demonstrate capabilities in partnering with the University, industry, and community stakeholders to achieve our aspirations.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• lead and co-ordinate the Business School's engagement with key University strategic initiatives
• establish collaborative networks with key academic and professional staff leaders, within the Business School and across the University to assess strategic initiatives and opportunities
• partner with external networks and key sector bodies to progress strategic opportunities.
• convene tiger teams for the Business School to test ideas and provide recommendations to evaluate strategic initiatives
• provide regular advice and updates on how the Business School is tracking against its strategic commitments
• undertake research and analysis to prepare reports, briefing notes and presentations for the Dean.
• coordinate the implementation of strategic initiatives to BAU
• compliance and quality assurance management, in line with requirements under the University's risk management framework including OH&S, legislation, statutes, regulations and policies.

About you

• previous experience supporting an executive team, strategy team or operational division, with experience reporting through to leadership team
• previous experience in managing strategic plans and/or strategic projects and the reporting and delivery of same to an executive team
• previous experience in managing a diverse group of key internal/external stakeholders on a large or complex project within a higher education sector or at a complex, multi-faceted organisation
• experience in controlling expenditure for reconciliation/budget tracking, managing invoice managements and purchases for a project
• effective development and management of a diverse group of key stakeholders on a large or complex project
• excellent administrative skills and a general understanding of project management
• ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• strong interpersonal and communication skills, with sound negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
