About the opportunity

The University of Sydney Business School is a signatory to the UNs Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME) which is responsible for accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a shared global framework of development priorities to 2030. The Business Schools has a vital leadership role to play in addressing these critical global challenges, through teaching to equip the next generation of leaders, innovators, and thinkers as well as through research to discover social, economic, environmental, and technical solutions.

The Project Officer-PRME is responsible for developing and implementing key PRME and related SDG initiatives across the Business School. The role ensures the Business School delivers on its public commitments to the PRME and can demonstrate capabilities in partnering with industry and community to achieve them.

The role will also collaborate to transform our curriculum, translating, and focusing our research priorities and our operations to contribute to net zero emissions, further our sustainable business practices and responsible leadership.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide operational project management support during project organisation and establishment, with the UN's PRME and Sustainable Development Goals as a lens for transformative change across all Business School functions
  • continue to develop PRME capabilities and opportunities across the School and University with key academic and professional staff and collaborate with global networks and key sector bodies to develop and share best practice in PRME and SDG integration
  • identify and implement project governance and reporting procedures to monitor project delivery, including the development of metrics and reporting processes to measure and enhance PRME impact.

About you

  • previous experience in managing a diverse group of key internal/external stakeholders on a large or complex project within a higher education sector or at a complex, multi-faceted organization
  • experience working in an area related to UN's PRME and Sustainable Development Goals
  • experience in controlling expenditure for reconciliation/budget tracking, managing invoice managements and purchases for a project
  • effective development and management of a diverse group of key stakeholders on a large or complex project
  • excellent administrative skills and a general understanding of project management
  • ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills, with sound negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
