Applications are invited for a Temporary 5 year post of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Information and Communication Studies (Information Systems) within UCD School of Information and Communication Studies.

The School of Information and Communication Studies ICS) is a diverse, interdisciplinary and fully research active school. As a member of the iSchool consortium the School is committed to high quality interdisciplinary research and teaching on information related areas. ICS is now looking for an Assistant Professor to support our increasingly popular MSc programmes in Information Systems and Human Computer Interaction. We invite applications from scholars who can contribute to and expand our strengths in research and teaching in information and communication studies, with emphasis on the intersection of technologies, people, and information. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in areas including information design, social computing, human-computer interaction, information ethics, machine learning, data analytics, artificial intelligence and information literacy. The candidate is expected to have experience of teaching technical subjects to social science students, a developing portfolio of publications and a record of research proposal submissions.

It is anticipated that interviews will take place in May 2023. The appointed Assistant Professor will ideally commence in post on 1 September 2023.

95 Lecturer/Asst Professor (above the bar) Salary Scale: 59,370 - 94,015 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
