Applications are invited for a Temporary 5 year post of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Information and communication Studies (MLIS) within UCD School of Information and Communication Studies.
The School of Information and Communication Studies ICS is a diverse, interdisciplinary and fully research active school. As a member of the iSchool consortium the school is committed to high quality interdisciplinary research and teaching on information related areas. The School of Information and Communication Studies ranks among the top 50 LIS schools worldwide in the QS rankings. ICS is now looking for an Assistant Professor to support our accredited Masters in Library and Information Studies (MLIS) and the other undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the school. The appointee will be expected to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervise masters students. We are seeking a scholar with proven experience teaching modules in the field of Library and Information Studies. The appointee will diversify and enhance the academic activities carried out by other colleagues in the school and will work collaboratively with them in the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The successful candidate will contribute to teaching in the following subject areas: Research and Practice in LIS, Organisation of Information, Cataloguing and Metadata, Information, Digital and Media Literacy, expected to develop relevant modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in accordance with their expertise.
95 Lecturer/Asst Professor (below the bar) Salary Scale: 37,909 - 66,011 per annum

95 Lecturer/Asst Professor (above the bar) Salary Scale: 59,370 - 94,015 per annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
