The Masaryk University Language Centre (CJV MU) includes 10 units, each one based at a different faculty of the university. The Head of each Unit is appointed by the Director of CJV MU for a period of four years. At the moment we are looking for three Unit Heads for CJV MU units at the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Arts, and the Faculty of Science. The role and responsibilities of the Unit Head are defined by organizational regulations of CJV MU.

What you may expect:

• responsibility for people management (e.g., setting timetables, organizing the team, taking interest in the well-being of unit team members)
• communication with faculty management concerning the language requirements of various study programmes
• preparation of courses in cooperation with course guarantors
• overseeing testing and exams
• designing both short-term and long-term strategy and development goals of the Unit
• cooperation with CJV MU management and other Unit Heads on the strategy of the Language Centre
• cooperation in research activities of CJV MU

What we expect from you:

• a university degree (Master or equivalent of MA and higher)
• a proactive approach, independence, and initiative
• responsibility and reliability
• excellent communication and presentation skills
• team spirit and willingness to listen to the needs of others, as well as the ability to think critically and to deal with uneasy situations
• team leading experience is an advantage
• familiarity with university settings is an advantage but is not necessary
