As such, we are in a period of exciting and significant investment in our Faculty of Medicine and Health and in order to deliver on the University's ambitious strategic plan, we are seeking Student Placements Officers to join our growing team on a full-time continuing and fixed term, full-time basis. This role will be a great opportunity to use your exceptional administrative and organisational experience to plan, organise, negotiate, and source both domestic and international student placements across a range of programs.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • negotiate, source and coordinate student placements for specific units of study
  • liaise with stakeholders to organise student placements
  • provide support to academic staff to ensure placements are effectively managed
  • use the placement management software, Sonia, to ensure that placements are being processed and delivered as effectively as possible
  • provide support for both students and placement providers to ensure that a high quality, client-focused service is being provided.

About you

  • strong administration background, preferably attained in a tertiary environment
  • effective and tactful verbal and written communication skills
  • strong problem-solving skills
  • exhibits initiative and sound judgment
  • excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes
  • great attention to detail.

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. For a continuing position, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
