Associate Professor of Psychology, Antje von Suchodoletz in the Division of Science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit two Bachelor-level research assistants to work on a research project that examines Emirati fathers’ parental identity, attitudes, beliefs, and practices around the transition to first-time fatherhood.

The successful applicants will be a core member of the Teaching, Learning and Development Lab that is led by Antje von Suchodoletz. The candidates will contribute to all elements of the study design, development of study materials, recruitment of participants, data collection, and data management and analysis for projects supervised by the Principal Investigator (PI).

Applicants must have a Bachelor degree in Psychology, Social Science, Education, or Human Development. Candidates from other fields will be considered if required skills are demonstrated. The candidate should have experience working in the UAE and/or the MENA region and be fluent in written and spoken Arabic and English. A good understanding of human subject research principles and having impeccable research ethics are required. In addition, successful candidates should bring excellent problem-solving and organization skills, be detail-oriented and have a good balance between the ability to follow specific instructions and the use of critical thinking to propose new solutions. Experience with field studies, working with caregivers and children, with Qualtrics software, and willingness to learn new software and programming language(s) are a plus.
