The Department’s research is funded by multiple grant awarding bodies including the Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), Economic & Social Research Council (ESRC), Biotechnology & Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), Innovate UK, and the Northern Ireland Department for the Economy.

The successful candidate must have, and all applications must clearly demonstrate:

  • A PhD in Operations Management/Operational Research/Information Systems or cognate fields.
  • A distinguished programme of international research activity and dissemination of original Operations Management/Operational Research/Information Systems research.
  • A sustained publication record of international excellence in Operations Management/Operational Research/Information Systems.
  • Significant experience of teaching and assessment in Business Analytics/Operations Management/Operational Research/Information Systems or related subject areas at university level.
  • Demonstrable excellence in classroom teaching and online delivery of teaching.
  • Successful supervision of PhD students.
  • Experience of providing leadership to the wider scholarly community (e.g., decision-making editorial roles in peer-reviewed journals).
  • For Professor: substantial experience of providing academic leadership at a strategic level (e.g., Director of Research, Head of Department).
