Job Summary:

The Finance area of the Business School of the University of Colorado Denver invites applications for one full time Instructor of Finance. The start date for this position is August 2023.

Job responsibilities:

A successful candidate hired at the Instructor level can expect a 70% teaching work distribution (7 courses annually), 10%/20% service, and 10%/20% research/maintaining professional qualification depending on the rank.  The instructor role has research/ maintaining professional qualification responsibilities that may consist of publications in practitioner journals, documented professional education experiences, or participation in professional conferences.

Faculty are expected to demonstrate continued professional growth in their fields.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
    a Master's degree in Finance or a closely related field at least one year of full-time teaching, or teaching at least four sessions as an instructor or an adjunct faculty, in Finance, or a closely related field

Applicants at the instructor level must have the ability and willingness to teach in various subjects such as Corporate Finance (both Principles and Advanced levels, including a cornerstone course based on the case studies), Financial Modelling, Financial Markets and Institutions, and Investment Management (with particular urgency of teaching needs in the first two areas). Typical indicators include past teaching of similar courses, relevant coursework at the graduate level, or highly relevant peer-reviewed quality research work on the subject.

Preferred Qualifications:
    A Ph.D. or DBA in Finance (or related fields) from an AACSB accredited university Experience in online or hybrid delivery is strongly preferred.  Strong potential and willingness to develop and teach finance elective courses (e.g., Mergers and Acquisitions) and graduate level courses would be a plus.  Potential for teaching effectiveness.  Typical indicators include past teaching/course evaluations, a documented history of developed courses/curricula, and/or pedagogical training.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The salary range for is $95,000-$105,000. The salary is commensurate with qualifications.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
