The University of Colorado Resident PT Program is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Hybrid Physical Therapy Program Director for a Hybrid PT Program on the campus of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). This successful candidate will work to implement a Hybrid Physical Therapy Program, work with university leadership to recruit the faculty and staff and lead the program upon its inception. The primary academic appointment will be at UCCS with a joint appointment with the University of Colorado School of Medicine. While the position is centered on hybrid instruction, this is an on-campus position. This position reports to the Chair of the UCCS Department of Health Sciences with additional oversight by the Associate Dean of Physical Therapy Education and the Senior Associate Dean of Education, School of Medicine. The appointment will be at the academic rank of Associate or Full Clinical Professor, salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This position is a full-time 12-month clinical faculty appointment with 40% teaching, 10% scholarship, 10% clinical and 40% service responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the UCCS Health Science Department in the Helen and Arthur E Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Science, as well as accreditation standards as set forth by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). The qualified individual will demonstrate leadership, and management of an accredited PT program. The qualified individual will demonstrate experience in teaching, curriculum development, course coordination, student advising, teamwork, and clinical scholarship.

Job Duties:
    Contributing to the teaching and administration of the Hybrid Physical Therapy Program and representing the program during the on-site accreditation visit. Administering and managing the Hybrid Physical Therapy Program Recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating Hybrid Physical Therapy faculty; mentoring faculty through promotions process Preparing accreditation reports for the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education and other accrediting bodies, as requested Supporting collaborative clinical arrangements with Penrose/St. Francis-Centura Health, hospitals and other clinical affiliates in eastern and southern Colorado, and developing new out-of-state clinical affiliates with the Anschutz Director of Clinical Education Teaching and conducting scholarly activities in areas of expertise Overseeing financial resources of the Hybrid Physical Therapy Program in conjunction with the Chair of the UCCS Department of Health Sciences, Associate Dean of Physical Therapy Education, and Directors of Finance and Administration for Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences (JBE) and the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine Expanding and managing the curriculum for the DPT Program with the Residential Physical Therapy Program Director Supporting internships, residency experience and new/innovative clinical educational models Working with the Associate Dean of the CU Physical Therapy Education to maintain the PT alumni network and foster relationships with alumni Promoting community involvement and service to the PT profession and other related professions Performing other duties assigned by the Chair of the UCCS Department of Health Sciences in consultation with the Associate Dean of Physical Therapy Education Ensuring adequate faculty participation in research in accordance with accreditation standards and School expectations Serving on department, college and university level committees Other duties as determined by the Dean and Department Chair

Work Location: On-Site

Remote work will be available for emergency events. This will be offered based on the emergency and allowance will come from leadership and the guidelines provided at the time of the emergency.

This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

What We Offer:

Salary Range:

Associate Clinical generally starting at $112,000 - $135,000 per 12-month contract

Full Professor Clinical generally starting at $135,000 - $215,000 per 12-month contract

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Tentative Search Timeline:

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
    Candidate must have an earned post-professional doctorate degree (PhD, EdD, ScD, DSc or equivalent) in physical therapy and a related discipline (an entry-level physical therapy degree (MSPT or DPT)) Minimum of 5 years full-time physical therapy program faculty service Eligibility for physical therapist licensure in the State of Colorado.

The candidate will also be accomplished as a scholar and teacher commensurate with eligibility for a clinical appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.

To be considered at the clinical associate professor level, preferred applicants should also show evidence of
    Excellence in teaching and scholarly activities Experience chairing and serving on PhD dissertation committees History of securing internal and external funding Expertise in key academic area(s) that would enhance the Hybrid PT Program's national reputation Demonstrated ability to engage in collaborative leadership and partnerships with the Physical Therapy program constituencies Demonstrated departmental leadership interest in leadership roles.

To be considered at the full professor level, preferred applicants should show also evidence of:
    Excellence in leadership Outstanding organizational skills Excellent communication skills with faculty and community participants.

Preferred Qualifications:
    5 years or more of hybrid instruction and program management Prior clinical experience 5 or more years of full-time physical therapy program faculty service Graduate teaching Previous scholarship and research Previous service Positions of increased academic responsibility Leadership and management accomplishments Demonstrated ability to work with varied internal and external constituencies

Physical Requirements:

The candidate must possess sufficient motor function to effectively perform job duties. This includes, but is not limited to, the performance, description or direction of others to safely lift, transfer, guard, and position patients. In addition, many physical therapy interventions require advanced hands-on skills to safely perform patient care including manual therapy and treatments that use accessory devices.
