We are recruiting a Deputy Manager to join Residences looking after the accommodation needs of our students, including the management of halls. You will join the team at an exciting time as we continue develop our portfolio of over 6,700 rooms, including refurbishment plans and continued development of our halls offer to enhance student experience.   

The role

Supporting the Residences Facilities Manager by overseeing the day-to-day running of a particular set of halls, ensuring compliance and service standards are consistently met at your site. Additionally taking a lead for a functional area, such as cleaning, health & safety or sustainability across all our halls.  

In this role, collaborative working with the teams responsible for Facilities and Occupancy is key to the success of Residential Services service delivery.  Partnership working with other departments within the University who deliver services to Residential Services, and with the wider University in supporting student needs is critical to improving the experience for our students in accommodation. 

About you

The successful candidate will be self-sufficient, have excellent communication skills and have a proven track record of successfully delivering objectives within time and budget. You will be able to recognise and present business critical issues and identify and implement solutions to agreed targets.   You will also have proven experience of line managing a team of direct reports. You will be innovative, working with your team and other stakeholders, to identify and implement improvements to service delivery with the overall aim of improving student experience.  The candidate is expected to work flexibly contributing to an out of hours on call rota and a requirement to work as part of a rota to support key weekends for the service.
