Salary: 
The salary for this role will vary depending on if you are a clinical or non-clinical academic. Appointment is usually made at the minimum point on these scales.
The salary range for the Clinical Consultant Scale is £90,526 – £121,295 pa including London Allowance (prorated for part-time staff).
The salary range for the Professional and Senior Admin scale is £72,852 - £157,594 pa including London Allowance (pro-rated for part-time staff).

We are looking to appoint a dynamic Research Institute Director to lead the Institute of Infection and Immunity (I&I). This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a thriving institute and influence the future of research at St. George’s.  The Institute Director will provide research vision, inspiration, strategic leadership, and operational management for the Institute across the five Research Sections; Infection and Clinical Therapeutics, Vaccine and Immunity trials, Translational Infection Research, Immunology and host response, Pathogen Research Group, and will contribute personally to the Institute’s internationally competitive research in one or more of these areas.

Applicants will be a renowned clinical/non- clinical professor with an excellent international track record of independent research in Infection and/or immunity. They should have extensive experience of leadership and successful strategy implementation within a research institution. This is an exciting opportunity to capitalise on the considerable success of this research Institute and further harness the areas of strength for progression, alongside growing their own research programme.

Applicants would be appointed at the level of a tenured Professor. The Institute Director appointment is for 3 years in the first instance, renewable for a further term of 3 years.  A support package will be tailored to the needs of the successful appointee.
