The Position
The Research Officer provides comprehensive support on a diverse range of research activities including providing support to allocated research activities. The Research Officer will contribute to identified projects undertaken by the Lindenmayer group.
The Person
The Research Officer works as part of the research team, liaising with a wide range of stakeholders and providing assistance with the design and implementation of research directions. The Research Officer will be responsible for undertaking management of data and providing general support related to allocated research activities.
The School
The Fenner School of Environment & Society operates within the ANU College of Science. The School is concerned with environmental sustainability in contexts from local to global, undertaking interdisciplinary teaching and research. Supporting an academic staff of approximately 60, +120 PhD scholars, a postgraduate coursework student cohort of +100, and approximately 500 undergraduate students each semester is a support staff of approximately 25 people organised into functional teams: Student Administration, Human Resources and Finance, Communications and Marketing, IT and Technical Services (laboratory and fieldwork). The services provided by support staff within the School are integrated with the Science Administration group at the College level.
The College
The ANU College of Science encompasses the disciplines of: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Environment and Society, Mathematics, Physics, and Science Communication and is also home to a number of cross-disciplinary and specialist Institutes and Centres. Staff and students within the ANU College of Science conduct research and deliver a research-led education program that encompasses the breadth of the sciences, supported by extensive international networks and by world-class facilities.
