Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Immunology

• Full time, fixed term for 3 years

• Base Salary from $113,184 (Level B) - $138,645 (Level C) + 17% superannuation

The School of Medical Sciences is recognised as one of the leading centres for medical science education in the world. With over 100 years of excellence in education, we are proud to be training the next generation of medical scientists who will be leading members of the medical research community with an innovative integrated curriculum. Our team of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines, from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas.

We are currently seeking to appoint a Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in Immunology.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• expand at a national level your knowledge within the discipline of immunology
• develop, deliver and evaluate the immunology and associated education programs for undergraduate and postgraduate students
• make a significant contribution to the research, education and administrative endeavors of the School of Medical Sciences while building your reputation towards becoming an authority in the discipline
• have demonstrated excellence in research, scholarly activities relevant to the discipline and educational design and practice
• have deep and broad experience in teaching and learning, as evidenced by participation in team teaching within an established program and experience in teaching in a variety of settings
• have an established network of relationships with key academic, consumer/advocacy, industry and/or professional institutions, partners and stakeholders that can be leveraged to enhance the standing of the discipline, School/ Faculty and University
• have an understanding of and ability to support an academic endeavour from curriculum design to producing leading research and providing a student enabling environment

About you

• have a PhD in an academic field relevant to immunology
• have a developing research profile evidenced by original, high-quality and independent research in this field and / or related fields of practice
• have experience in teaching and learning, including demonstrated experience in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives
• have a developing network of relationships with academic, consumer / advocacy, industry and / or professional organisations, partners and stakeholders
• have experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities
• a developing knowledge and understanding of the key strategic issues in the discipline and higher education sector

In addition to the above, to be considered for a Senior Lecturer in Immunology (Level C) you will need to demonstrate:

• the capacity to lead a research program relevant to the field of immunology
• a leadership role in attracting significant, competitive research funding
• influence within the discipline and/or in pedagogical or curriculum innovation relating to teaching in health sciences
