Research Assistant (Computer Science)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Research Assistant. In this role, you will work on developing system infrastructure for next generation in-network computation, including large simulation frameworks and distributed operating systems for managing hardware-offloaded computation. The successful candidate will have a strong background in computer science or a related field, with experience in distributed systems, operating systems, and computer networks.

Responsibilities:

• Work on designing and implementing system infrastructure for in-network computation
• Develop a simulation framework for evaluating in-network compute systems
• Design and implement distributed operating systems for managing hardware-offloaded computation
• Collaborate with other researchers and engineers to achieve project goals
• Write research papers and present findings at conferences

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, Python, and Rust
• Familiarity with distributed systems, operating systems, and computer networks
• Experience in system-level programming, such as device drivers or network protocols
• Experience with simulation tools, such as ns-3, OMNeT++, QEMU or gem5
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Publication record in top-tier conferences or journals is a plus
