About the opportunity
The Operational Resilience Coordinator is responsible for ensuring Central Operations Services (COS) is prepared for risks, disruptions and incidents that will impact the business units delivery of continued services across the University. The Coordinator will be expected to identify areas for improvement drawing on their understanding of incident and emergency response, risk and exercise development. The role will be required to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders across the University including professional units, Faculties, Schools and emergency services to leverage insights and perspectives. This role will be responsible for the identification of incidents which could impact the Universities operations and development of multi-stakeholder exercises, training, and awareness programs to prepare for such events.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- incident response continuous improvement: develop and deliver a program to continuously improve the operational resilience of Central Operations Services to respond to identified risks, incidents and emergencies
- test and validate the effectiveness of local plans, procedures and processes, providing guidance and training, to maintain and enhance operational response capabilities
- build strong stakeholder relationships across operational COS teams and key area including Health and Safety and risk
- collaborate with key stakeholders to develop a robust exercise program to respond to and recover from all levels of disruptions
- conduct annual review and updates of the University UERP (University Emergency Management Plan)
- assist the Director of Protective and Risk Services in designing and maintaining the overarching emergency framework
- demonstrated experience in incident, emergency and crisis capability development and coordination.
- experience with continuous improvement, business continuity and associated fields
- demonstrated experience developing, coordinating, and delivering multiple stakeholder exercises across an organisation
- ability to influence and build networks across multiple levels of a large organisation
- ability to gain co-operation and assistance from those outside your usual span of control to achieve desired outcomes
- excellent communication, both written and verbal and ability to clearly articulate and present back to senior stakeholders.
