At the Faculty of Psychology, Institute of Educational and Developmental Psychology, the Chair of Psychology of Learning and Instruction offers for the Centre for Tactile Internet with Human-in-the-Loop (CeTI) a project position as

Research Associate for skill acquisition and learning (m/f/x)

(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting May1,2023. The position is initially limited until December 31, 2025. The period of employment is governed by § 2 (2)Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG).

Topic: Skill acquisition and learning with CeTI technologies (Research rooms TP1 “Human-in-the-Loop” and U3 “Internet of Skills”)

Tasks: One of CeTI’s research aims is to augment human perception and action with new real-time sensor/actuator technologies in order to promote skill acquisition. U3 will build demonstrators aimed at promoting sensory-motor skill acquisition and action with new real-time sensor/actuator technologies. Your tasks will be to conduct (i) multisensory behavioural experiments together with other CeTI-teams (e.g. TP1, TP2, U1), as well as (ii) design-based research in U3 in order to investigate the benefits and constraints of using sensor/actuator and augmented reality technologies for promoting sensory-motor skill acquisition.

Requirements: We are looking for a candidate with a university (MA) and, if applicable, PhD degree in psychology, sports and exercise sciences, human factor/medical engineering, or related fields who has expertise in psychophysical research of technology-enhanced sensory-motor learning and control, as well as experiences in motion capture technologies. In the framework of the ambitious and highly interdisciplinary CeTI (www.ceti.one), we are seeking a researcher enthusiastic about applying and developing theoretical and methodological insights of psychological research on skill acquisition and (motor) learning to the field of human-cyber-physical systems. Team spirit and collaboration will be essential for the project. Interests and prior experiences in cognitive neuroscience methods and/or human technology interactions would be a plus.
