Biomed Online is a consortium of NHS Trusts, The Health Security Agency, commercial healthcare providers and the University of Greenwich and was established to provide online training for the Continuing Professional Development of biomedical scientists and healthcare professionals in the workplace. Courses are delivered 100% online over 12 weeks in small groups of around 10-15 students under guidance of a facilitator, and different course combinations can be selected for qualifications leading to MSc, PG Dip, or PGCert awards. The University of Greenwich is now seeking a new Director to provide leadership and direction for the continued development and growth of Biomed Online, to set strategic objectives and to develop the academic plan in consultation with members of the Biomed Online Board. He/she will also be responsible for the day-to-day operation, management, and delivery of Biomed Online, for organising the implementation of decisions taken by the Biomed Online Board, and for financial administration of Biomed Online, in conjunction with Greenwich's finance department. Candidates will possess demonstrable leadership skills; excellent all round communication skills including the ability to listen and quickly assimilate business needs and requirements and have experience of working in healthcare and academic organisations.
The role of Director Biomed Online is for an initial period of three years. The role holder’s period of office may be extended beyond this initial three-year period subject to outstanding performance and review.
