Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for conducting research on quantum rare event models in financial markets. Successful candidate will be part of an active research team led by Assoc. Prof Paul Griffin from School of Computing and Information Systems, Singapore Management University. Candidate’s core responsibilities are:

  • Data preparation using standard pipelines
  • Coding the theoretical quantum models for rare event modelling
  • Benchmarking quantum models to classical counterparts
  • Writing academic papers on the results
  • Liaising with academic and industrial partners


  • Minimum PhD degree in Computer Science with experience in quantum computing from an  institution of higher learning
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant research experience in quantum computing
  • Strong proficiency in programming Python and a quantum language such as Qiskit is required
  • Demonstrated experience and know-how on quantum computing
  • Excellent working knowledge of quantum simulators and NISQ devices
  • Good analytical, technical and problem solving skills
  • Applicants with research publications in the area of quantum computing will be advantageous
  • Self-motivated individual who can work independently and also collaboratively with team members
