Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in the Master of Arts in Chinese Language and Literature (MACLL) programme in the School of Chinese (Ref.: 519769), to commence on September 1, 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chinese Language and Literature or related areas and 5 years’ post-qualification teaching experience at tertiary level. They should have a proven track record of excellence in teaching and demonstrate evidence of administrative experience in higher education settings.  Experience in teaching classical/modern Chinese language at tertiary institutions would be a definite advantage. The appointee is expected to teach taught-postgraduate as well as undergraduate courses and to supervise dissertations. Information on the structure, the staff establishment and the course offerings of the School can be obtained at https://web.chinese.hku.hk.
