Chief Education and Training Officer
Chief Education and Training Officer / Dean of Postgraduate Studies
The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust
For 100 years, the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust has forged new and distinctive ways of understanding and approaching all aspects of mental health and wellbeing for children and adult outpatients, locally and nationally. We also have a strong focus on education and training – and uniquely, both an Ofsted registration for the integrated school we run; and registration with the Office for Students, for our education and training activity where we are developing plans to have degree awarding ability.
One of three mental health Trusts in the North Central London ICS, we also provide services nationally and have an international reputation across a range of mental health services and education activities. We are proud to be a small independent specialist provider of innovative and high- quality services with an annual turnover of c£57m, and around nine hundred committed staff delivering high quality services.
We want to offer each person outstanding treatment and support, so those we serve can live a fulfilling life. Now seeing greater investment in mental health to correct years of underfunding, in tandem with a positive shift in societal attitudes to mental health, will strengthen our work to speak up against stigma.
We are now looking for a new Chief Education and Training Officer / Dean of Postgraduate Studies with an established track record of building and developing an educational offering. This role sits on the Executive Leadership Team and is key for our continued growth.
A tenacious and inspiring leader, this individual will need to have a commercial mindset in order to facilitate the ambitious growth plan in place at the Trust. Additionally, a clinical background would be advantageous. Having an understanding of the current market, specifically within the context of mental health is preferred.
As we navigate the next stage of the Tavistock’s journey, the incoming CETO will be expected to help develop our strategic needs and translate that into operational change. As we have a strong brand and international reputation, this individual will also be required to build and leverage partnerships to support the Trust.
