Research Associate, Singapore Wearable-enabled Health Impact Study

Job Description

The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is recruiting a Research Associate in the SWISH study. The Singapore Wearable-enabled Health Impact Study (SWISH) aims to assess the impact of HPB wearable-enabled health promotion programmes on the health and health-related behaviours of participants. This project will involve recruitment, assessment, and analysis of the research data.

We’re looking for a Research Associate who is excited to be involved in the evaluation of national-level programmes to help in informing programmes and policies for the improvement of Singapore’s population healthcare. In this role, you will mainly be involved in supporting the coordination, collection, process and management of the data, including monitoring data safety protocols and access in Singapore. You will be assisting with both the intervention and control arm and the economic evaluation of LumiHealth vs. NSC vs. Control group. You will be responsible for compliance and oversight of all merging and matching of data, as well as documenting the various data sources and the matching processes. You will also be responsible for other project support tasks, notably supporting stakeholder meetings, and overseeing manuscript preparation with respect to the description of all data-related management and issues.

Qualifications

The appointed candidate should: (1) hold at least a Master’s degree (2) be proficient in Stata or R and (3) have relevant working experience in statistics, mathematics, computer science, quantitative social science, public health, epidemiology or related field. (4) Experience with academic publication is preferred but not required. (5) Good grasp of research methods and design communication.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to query large data sets and have excellent knowledge of quantitative methods in applied health and/or social sciences. Fluency in English, as well as demonstrably good writing and analytic skills, are essential. The role will suit someone who enjoys problem-solving.
