We are currently looking for a Director, Learning and Teaching to play an exciting role in this key leadership role within the Academic Portfolio. You will be a clear strategic thinker with strong influencing skills and sound knowledge and understanding of the latest trends and developments in learning and teaching in higher education.
The position will report directly to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) and will play a key leadership role in fostering a partnership environment with our Faculties to enhance quality and innovative approaches to learning and teaching across the University. The team you will lead includes a focus on learning technologies and systems, educational design, quality assurance and academic policy development. You will bring a focus on the changing landscape of policy, evolving learning and teaching challenges and service provision in relation the Higher Education Standards.
The role requires you to develop collaborative and constructive relationships across the university, as well as with a wide range of external stakeholders to ensure that high-quality strategic initiatives are successfully implemented. Critical to the success will be a collegial style, strong consultation and communication skills, and a proven commitment to providing outstanding learning and teaching support.
To be successful in this role you will have a PhD or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience. A previous role in leading university teaching and learning initiatives and/or academic leadership would be an advantage.
