Applications are invited for the following full-time position in the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health:

Research Assistant (Data Analytics and Statistics)

A Research Assistant position is available in the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health to support research projects in Data Analytics and Statistics. The position will focus on developing and applying statistical approaches to real-world data from diverse areas in Public Health (e.g., Epidemiology, Health Services Research, Population Health).

Major duties and responsibilities of the position include: (i) develop and implement data management and analysis plans, (ii) design and implement simulation studies, (iii) develop quantitative approaches using statistical principles and implement them in R, (iv) write papers for peer-reviewed journals, (v) prepare presentation slides and present findings, and (vi) provide administrative support to research projects.

Qualifications:

A mature problem solver who is well-organized with an eye for details. Candidate must be able to work independently and as a team. Candidate is also expected to have good written and verbal communication skills.

Other requirements:

  1. Completed a bachelor in a quantitative discipline (e.g. statistics, mathematics, data science, computer science).
  2. Strong programming skills in R (and preferably some knowledge of other software programs, e.g., C, STATA).
  3. Good understanding of regression models and statistical methods/theories with an interest in applying them to address real-world questions.
