About the opportunity

The Data Governance Lead is responsible for overall Enterprise Integration data Strategy, establishing data classification standards and driving the implementation of data governance policies and frameworks. This position is focused on evaluating internal data governance practices, identifying data quality issues, integrating data both operationally and transactionally; and ensuring consistency of integration solutions across business functions.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • develop and maintain positive working relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, also review, develop and implement practices, processes, methods and procedures relevant to the maturity and effective operation of the integration data governance deliveries
  • oversee the work of the integration team by providing analysis leadership in with reported data problems, issues and requested changes
  • take ownership over data and application integration processes and drive continuous improvement and automation as required
  • define and roll out a wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organisation behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture
  • implement data integrity, security and ease of use, in line with internal data standards and policies.
  • review, develop, implement and undertake continuous improvement of integration data processes, procedures and methods, in relation to system data quality
  • take responsibility and monitor Issues and Risks in accordance with IT Application Management risk and issue management process also ensure regular updates on work status, risks and issues.

About you

  • substantial experience in Data/information Architecture, Enterprise Data Management and Information Management (IM) roles in large and complex organisations. (Previous experience in higher education, awareness of tertiary sector issues, challenges, and dynamics preferable but not mandatory)
  • experience in working with data governance/data quality and data security teams in moving data pipelines into production with appropriate data quality, governance and security standards and certification
  • demonstrated experience with data quality processes and data security processes and practices
  • strong technical experience of integration design patterns, governance best practices, ETL, MDM & API
  • demonstrated experience in data requirements identification, data governance, data collection, classification, validation and quality assurance, analysis, interpretation, and reporting
  • demonstrated project management experience with the ability to maintain attention to detail and to meet deadlines, including a demonstrated ability to efficiently manage resources and improve the quality of work including coordinating activities, facilities and/or resources
  • demonstrated excellent communication and influencing experience across all levels of stakeholder internally and externally
  • ability to work independently or collaboratively to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
