The University Clinic for Swine is dealing with all aspects of swine medicine, in particular infectious diseases of pigs. University assistants at the Clinic take part in teaching, routine duties like diagnostic investigations of swine herds with clinical disease and research. Teaching activities take place at the Clinic, in the University owned teaching and research facility as well as during herd visits of conventional pig farms. Research at the Clinic mainly deals with important infectious diseases, e.g. PRRSV, PCV2, APPV. The University Clinic for Swine aims to cooperate closely with practising vets in the field, with other institutes from the Vetmeduni Vienna but also other institutions working in the area of pig medicine
