Senior Research Fellow in Biomedical Engineering (Salary; £43155): Funded by the BBSRC, the research project seeks to understand fundamental mechanisms of molecular, cellular and tissue mechanoadaptation in the post-natal limb. This role will focus on supporting a single cell and spatial transcriptomic and reporter model analysis of trans-differentiation in murine models in vivo and applying novel developmental engineering approaches in vitro in order to model these events and elucidate their mechanisms. The role will interface with an NC3R-funded project exploring the chondro-osseous-vascular interface using an organ-on-a-chip approach, a biology-bioinformatics role, and chemistry expertise, acting as a key linchpin in the formation of a new group at the University of Southampton.
Strong applicants should demonstrate:
- a doctorate and postdoctoral experience in biomedical engineering
- ability or potential to obtain peer-reviewed funding
- evidence of distinction in bioengineering research through high-quality publications
