Description

The Ramadi laboratory in the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research assistant to join a young energetic lab focused on neuroengineering of the brain and enteric nervous system.

Our laboratory has recently developed modular brain probes, steerable microneedles, ingestible devices as well as computational frameworks for interfacing with various nervous system targets. The successful applicant will join a number of fascinating projects on engineering novel approaches to modulate neural activity in the brain and gastrointestinal (GI) tract. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students and undergraduate students.

Applicants must have a BS (MS preferred) in an engineering or biomedical-related discipline, two years of experience in a laboratory setting, and an ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team; with strong organization, communication, problem-solving and time management skills. High proficiency in English is required. Excellent experimental and engineering skills relevant to the project (in particular design and fabrication) are strongly preferred.

For consideration, applicants need to submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae with full publication list, statement of research interests and three letters of reference, all in PDF format. If you have any questions, please email Prof. Khalil Ramadi at kramadi@nyu.edu.

The terms of employment are very competitive and include housing and educational subsidies for children. Applications will be accepted immediately and candidates will be considered until the position is filled.
