Universit Libre De Bruxelles (ULB) seeks a competent project manager for the EU funded Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network DEDS *Data Engineering for Data Science*. DEDS is a three-year joint doctoral programme for 15 PhD students on topics related to data science and data engineering. The programme is designed to develop state of art education, research, and innovation at the intersection of Data Science and Data Engineering. Its core objective is to provide holistic support for the end-to-end management of the full life-cycle of data, from capture to exploitation by data scientists
DEDS is a network of four leading European institutions: Universit Libre De Bruxelles (ULB) - BE, Universidad Polit cnica de Catalunya (UPC) - ES, Aalborg Universitet (AAU) - DK, and Athena Research Centre (ARC) EL. The network is also composed of 17 partner organisations offering secondments for the PhD students. For more information refer to [https://deds.ulb.ac.be/]. The project is now in its mid-way, started in Mar 2021.
The project manager will be responsible for the administrative, organizational, and financial aspects of the network together with the coordinator. The daily work involves interactions with the 15 PhD students, the partner institutions, the ULB administration, and with the European Commission.
## Responsibilities
The project manager will have the following responsibilities in cooperation with the project coordinator:
- Manage the DEDS project, and act as the main contact person for all partners and PhD students.
- Supervise the implementation of the project and monitor the work plan, ensuring all project deliverables and milestones are fulfilled in time.
- Ensure compliance with the obligations in the grant agreement and the consortium agreement.
- Hold regular consortium meetings with all partners and follow up the progress of the project.
- Plan and follow-up with partners the timely preparation of scientific deliverables.
- Prepare and update the management and administrative deliverables, including Doctoral Training Report, Evaluation Report, communication, Dissemination, and Technology Transfer Report, Progress Report, and Quality Assessment Report.
- Follow the expenses (breakdown and transfer of funds, updating and monitoring of the budget, financial summary balance sheets, etc.), in collaboration with the ULB financial department.
- Coordinate communication and outreach activities, including maintaining the project web portal, and the internal project archive.
The project manager is expected to travel to network events in Europe.
