Programme Leader (MA Arts Pedagogy and Practice)

MA Arts Pedagogy and Practice is a pioneering and successful programme that seeks to explore the particularities of the teaching and learning of arts and culture. The programme prepares artists, designers, cultural practitioners and creative industry professionals for careers as arts educators. Graduates apply their practice across a number of settings including public education programmes, schools and tertiary institutions.

We are seeking to appoint a Programme Leader to direct and teach this one of a kind  programme.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished academic in arts education with a strong creative practice or research practice. You will bring a keen interest in shaping the future of arts and culture education through exploring innovative pedagogies and creative education practices.

The programme sits within the School of Creative Industries in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Media and Creative Industries. Reporting to the Head of School and Dean, your key responsibilities will include the organisation, planning and delivery of the programme. As  Programme Leader, you will be responsible for creating a stimulating environment for students, ensuring the programme maintains its current high standards, and setting the programme’s strategic direction for the future. As an academic or scholar-practitioner, you will be expected to contribute to the research culture at LASALLE through scholarly work and/or practice-led research, while also teaching modules and supervising MA theses.

Your key operational responsibilities include overseeing the curriculum and its development, planning and coordination of classes and assessment, ensuring high levels of quality assurance to meet the academic standards of the College; and managing the programme efficiently within the allotted resources and budget, which includes selection and management of part-time staff and a range of visiting artists.

In line with the breadth and range of different practices across the arts education field, we are keen to consider applicants with diverse experience and backgrounds in art, design and culture. Please apply if you feel you could bring leadership to this exciting and successful programme.
