Job Description

The Senior Research Fellow (SRF) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and the team members to ensure the successful completion of the study on time.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Research Fellow (SRF) will liaise with the relevant personnel in the project, and will be accountable to the Principle Investigator (PI) & the team. The SRF will be able to:

  1. Oversee the general management of the projects with the Department of Mechanical Engineering and;
  2. Undertake the day to day overseeing the progress of the project at various study sites, e.g. Collaborate with team members at the study sites;
  3. Maintain and oversee accounts, procurement and file maintenance for the projects under the PI.
  4. Conduct literature searches relevant to the project and for future related projects;
  5. Assist in writing Grant proposals;
  6. Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures of the department; Assist in preparing both progress and final reports of the project;
  7. To have expertise and an avid interest in die less forming of sheet metals. Experience in material development, 3D Printing and CAD design is required.

Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.  

Qualifications

The applicant should:

  • Have a Ph.D degree from local/foreign universities in the field of Mechanical Engineering, with expertise and an avid interest in Die-less forming, 3D Printing and CAD design.
  • Possess at least 6 years of relevant research experience and be able to communicate effectively to write scientific manuscripts and reports;
