Research Assistant, Full time, Fixed term (12 months)

We are currently looking for a Research Assistant who will work primarily on an externally funded project for a one-year appointment to support a Macmillan Cancer Support funded service, review of thirty-six social care sites, in the Transforming Cancer Care programme across Scotland.

There are further opportunities to work on other projects within the centre and to be part of a growing dynamic team.

The Role

The role holder will require knowledge in quantitative methods and will work for the majority independently and with some aspects under supervision of the project Research fellow and project leads.

As a research assistant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the e HNA and supporting PROM’s data provided by Macmillan Cancer Support and the sites across Scotland, while liaising with the thirty-six project leads to help interpret, and report results to assist in the project.

You’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, to develop your knowledge and understanding, and build your network for future collaboration.

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have:

  • MSc/ MRes/ Mphil or related relevant subject area or equivalent combination of experience and qualifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Research experience in quantative methods within a relevant social/health science discipline.
  • Willingness to travel within Scotland for data collection.

Hours: 36.25 per week
