Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Assistant within School of Nursing, Midwifery & Health Systems (IRIS Centre).
The HSE's Quality and Patient Safety Directorate (NQPSD) are establishing a national quality and patient safety surveillance system for all HSE provided and funded health and social care services.
NQPSD, with UCD IRIS Centre as the named academic partner for undertaking the project evaluation, has successfully obtained seed funding from Sl intecare to develop and implement a proof of concept QS Signals project with Maternity Services.
This research project will add value to the Quality and Patient Safety Signals project through an in-depth implementation science study that will evaluate the proof of concept. The research will be underpinned by a philosophy of scientific realism and aims to answer the question "what works, for whom, why, how and in what contexts?" in terms of a quality and patient safety signals system that can address the needs of many different stakeholders - policy makers, managers, quality improvers, clinical staff and patients.
UCD IRIS Centre, as the Research partner, will produce a realist evaluation of the proof of concept. Through this in-depth realist evaluation of the National Women and Infants Programme QS Signals proof of concept, a model of the necessary conditions and resources and supports for successful implementation will be generated to guide the scale-up of QS Signals system-wide. A Readiness and Capability Assessment for full-scale implementation will accompany the evaluation.
Research Assistant Salary Range: 29,275 - 39,158 per annum
