Job Description

A research fellow is sought who has familiarity with lithium niobate fabrication for use in an optoelectronics implementation of Ising Model computing.  

The key tasks to be carried out include the following:

• Cleanroom process development in lithium niobate etching
• Optoelectronics device characterization
• Optoelectronics device design and fabrication
• Leading younger students as a member of the research team
• To author and lead publications of results in high impact journals

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field and at least 2 years of experience after receiving the Ph.D. degree
• Ability to carry out independent research and lead younger students
• Required cleanroom experience: Must have experience in evaporation, optical lithography, electron-beam lithography, mask layout and design, ICP etching, ion milling
• Should be able to understand and carry out FDTD simulation, waveguide design, and other similar optoelectronics devices
• Must understand optical table setups, how to build them, order parts, and design them
• Open to Fixed Term Contract
