We're looking for an experienced, creative, and purposeful leader to help us drive positive societal impact through innovative fundraising programs.

This is an outstanding, career-defining opportunity to join a dynamic and transformational university, as we enter an exciting new phase with ECU City under development in the heart of Perth.

As a visionary leader with a passion for developing and executing innovative fundraising programs, you believe in the power of positive change.

ECU City is set to redefine higher education in Western Australia, bringing incredible opportunities for students and the community into the CBD. As the centrepiece of the Perth City Deal, the new Creative Industries, Business and Technology campus will exemplify the university of the future.

This is your chance to play your part in the launch of this unprecedented project, opening to students in 2026, while also implementing exciting changes across our other campuses.

As the Director, Development and Alumni Relations, you will take over the strategic and creative leadership of the University’s fundraising campaigns, including the team behind it.

You’ll be able to reimagine how ECU’s partnerships and connections are forged and maintained, driving an agenda at the highest levels of the University across a broad and interesting group of stakeholders, donors, industry leaders and alumni.

You’ll also be responsible for reimagining engagement, programming and connection with our extensive alumni community at a monumental stage in ECU’s history, working with the University Executive.

Your ability to think differently, and build, lead, and inspire your team will be key to your success.

About you:

  • You are a well-connected leader with a demonstrable track record in fundraising within the context of a comprehensive, multimillion-dollar campaign
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • You excel at building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • You have a strategic and creative mind
  • You can manage multiple initiatives and deadlines
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or eight years’ experience in development and fundraising

Edith Cowan University (ECU) is transforming higher education in Western Australia and the world.

We’re bold when it comes to the important stuff, like green energy, precision medicine, cyber security, and creative technologies – representing just a small portion of the amazing innovations within our schools and programs.

When you join ECU, you become part of a large, diverse and talented team with a shared purpose. Together, with an open mind and creative thinking, we strive to effect positive change in the world and create a learning environment that energises and inspires our students, our staff and our community.

If you believe in being bold, are passionate about driving positive change and have the skills and experience to succeed, we’d love to hear from you.

Open to Australian or New Zealand citizens, or Australian permanent residents.

Closing date: 11.30pm (WST), Monday 10 April 2023
