About the team

The role will work within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) portfolio: Education Innovation and Enterprise. The office of the Director, Education Innovation and Enterprise is a newly established function that recognises the dynamic and disruptive nature of higher education. It will oversee two major areas of strategic direction for UWA: digital innovation and employability.

The role will also work collaboratively within and beyond that portfolio to support student recruitment, enhanced student experiences, industry engagement initiatives as well as key institutional partnerships. Within these two areas, external negotiations with government; software providers; third party online delivery organisations and many other bodies, is an increasing feature and involves close internal liaison with UWA’s legal, IT, finance and other areas.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Education Innovation and Enterprise, you will manage the consistent and successful delivery of employability and experiential learning programs within the Office of Education Innovation and Enterprise. This is achieved through planning, execution, and delivery of projects and operations on time, within budget, to specified quality and within scope.

You will also consolidate the multiple initiatives with respect to work-integrated learning at curricula and co-curricular levels to develop an overall strategy for employability, and broader forms of experiential learning. You will scope, plan and manage initiatives around implementation and enhancement of employability and experiential learning at UWA, and provide direction to specified functional areas. In addition, you will maintain financial oversight and ensure budgetary discipline across the Employability and Experiential Learning area, working with Finance and the Director, Education Innovation and Enterprise.

About you

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive relevant experience in project management. You will also have significant experience in the higher education sector or a related field, and experience working within legal and regulatory frameworks and varied governance structures at a senior management level.

You will the ability to influence across senior levels of large, complex organisations and demonstrate the ability to analyse and interpret complex data, present findings, and advocate positions. In addition, you will have the ability to develop and lead significant projects through the project management lifecycle, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
