UTS - DVC Research, Graduate Research School

About the role

A key member of the Research Division leadership team, as Deputy Dean you will work closely with the Dean and the Graduate Research School (GRS) leadership team. Key focus areas for the role include:

  • Advancement and strategic positioning and delivery of the UTS HDR portfolio.
  • Promoting innovation and excellence, enhancing the student experience and training.
  • Deliver UTS’s Research Strategy, pertaining to Graduate Research Student experience and training.
  • Being a member of the UTS HDR School Board, and where required, representing the Dean/GRS on other UTS committees.
  • The delivery of quality academic outcomes, and high impact research and external engagement.
  • Contribute to program design and review.

You will be a confident leader who fosters a collaborative and professional environment, ensuring we achieve our strategic objectives. 

About you

  • PhD or an equivalent
  • Exceptional experience in leading, developing and implementing researcher development, training programs and technology.
  • Excellent tertiary academic leadership experience, including teaching and learning, research, external engagement, policy development and implementation.
  • A strong background in influencing and relationship building.
  • A successful and creative approach in delivering and implementing strategy and initiatives.
  • A demonstrated track record in implementing and driving change.
  • Proven experience in research collaborations and partnerships with government, industry and community groups.

Your experience may have been acquired from roles such as Director, Deputy Director or Centre Director, however, most importantly you will be able to demonstrate previous leadership of a portfolio of activity.

Remuneration

A competitive remuneration package, including an employer contribution of up to 17% superannuation, will be on offer to the successful candidate.
