A full time mandate of assistant professor is granted for a first term of 2 years, renewable after notice of the competent bodies for 2 other periods of 2 years maximum for a full time. The purpose of the mandate being to lead and finalize a doctoral thesis, the tasks will be equitably divided between teaching and research . These can be reviewed on a regular basis.
The doctoral thesis will be part within the Faculty of Pharmacy of the ULB in the research team of the unit of pharmaceutics and biopharmaceutics under the supervision of Prof. Nathalie Wauthoz (unit manager: Prof. Karim Amighi) of the Department of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics (department manager : Prof. J. Goole).
The objective of the research project is to modulate and/or target pulmonary macrophages that have a role in the majority of respiratory diseases, through the development of pharmaceutical technologies innovative dry powders for inhalation.
This project will focus in the production and characterization of inhaled formulations, and their in vitro evaluation on polarized macrophages, and their in vivo evaluation on well-established preclinical models in our research unit or in partner laboratories.
