We have an exciting opportunity in the Faculty of Engineering and Science to appoint a teaching technician to support student learning and research projects in the areas of chemistry, bioscience and pharmaceutical sciences. You will assist with practical teaching and technical support to foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate students studying one of the disciplines, including demonstration of the use of equipment and methods regularly used. The roles will include supporting all aspects of preparation and clearing of laboratory classes including setting up equipment, preparation of reagents, maintaining stock levels and providing advice and the relevant technical knowledge for students and academic staff during laboratory sessions. We encourage applications from technicians with a specialism in any one of the three broad areas of Science.

The posts demand a proactive approach, requiring initiative, team working and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The role holders will be highly organised with a positive and flexible approach to work in order to deal with a variety of requests and tasks.
